Medstar is always looking for qualified, safe, hard working individuals for wheelchair van and ambulatory van operators.
You may download our application and fill it out at home or you can call our office at (916) 669-0550 to schedule an appointment to come to our office to fill it out.
You must bring a 10 year (H-6) DMV printout (pulled within 30 days of application submission) along with your valid California Drivers License when applying.
Requirements for Employment
- General knowledge of the Sacramento Area
- 1 Point or less within the last 3 years on DMV record.
- Clear criminal history. (ALL employees subject to a comprehensive, 50 state, pre-employment background check)
- Minimum age is 23.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Employment Questions
1. What is the pay scale?
Your pay depends on what driver's license class you have, your experience, and your length of employment with Medstar.
2. Do I need a commercial driver's license to apply?
No, a standard driver's license is acceptable.
3. Can I fax or mail my application in?
Yes, but we prefer if you apply in person.
4. I was in the same room with someone who was smoking marijuana and I think I might test positive. Will that show up on a drug screen?
Maybe. Drug screens are conducted by an external Medical Review Officer. A positive drug screen would likely preclude you from employment.
5. I have an out of state or temporary driver?s license. Can you offer me employment?
No, a valid California driver's license is required.
6. I have a DMV printout from 4 months ago, can I bring that?
No, The DMV printout must be complete, original and dated within the last 30 days.
